The Old Man And The Pinch Of Salt
Once
upon a time, there lived a wise old.
One
morning, there came a young man who was dogged by many problems. The steps
slowly and face complicated. That guest, truly looks like an unhappy person.
Without
wasting time, the man was telling all his problems. The old man is wise, just
listen carefully. He then took a handful of salt, and ask her guests to take a
glass of water. Salt poured it into the glass, then slowly stirred. "Try,
drink this, and tell me how it feels ..", said the old man.
"Bitter.
Bitter ", replied the guest, spitting sideways.
The
old man, a little smile. He then invites his guests, to walk to the edge of the
lake in the woods near his home. The two men walked side by side, and finally
they came to the edge of the lake is very clear and calm it.
The
old man, then returned sprinkled a handful of salt, into the lake. With a piece
of wood, made waves churning and created ripples of water, shattered the peace
of the lake.
"Try,
take water from this pond, and drink. As guests sipped water was finished, the
old man said, "How does it feel?".
"Fresh.",
Said her guests.
"Do
you taste the salt in the water?" Asked the old man again.
"No,"
replied the young man.
Wisely,
the old man patted the back of the young man. He then invited him to sit face
to face, knelt beside the lake.
"Young
man, listen. The bitterness of life, is like a handful of salt, no more and no
less. The number and the bitter taste is the same, and it will remain the same.
"But,
the bitterness we feel, will greatly depend on the container that we had.
Bitterness, it will be based on the feeling of where we put everything. It will
all depend on our hearts. So, when you feel the bitterness and failure in life,
there is only one thing you can do. Lapangkanlah chest accept everything.
Luaskanlah heart to accommodate any of the bitterness. "
The
old man then returned to give advice.
"Your
heart, is that container. Your feeling is that place. Kalbumu, is where you
accommodate everything. So, do not make your heart was like glass, make like a
lake that is able to reduce any bitterness that and turn it into a freshness
and happiness. "
The
two then headed home. They both learned that day. And the old man, the wise
man, returns to save "a handful of salt", for other young people, who
often came to him bringing the soul unrest.
