Benefits of Studying asbab An-Nuzul
Benefits or benefits derived from studying early-Nuzul asbab been suggested many scholars. One of them, Ibn Taymiyyah. He said, knowing the causes of the decline in the Quranic verse can help someone understand the meaning of the verse.
As is known, many scholars who had difficulties in interpreting the Qur'anic verse because they do not know his background. However, after getting a description of the background of the decline in verse, they are increasingly easy to explain and understand.
According to Sheikh Muhammad Husain Ath-Tabatabaei in his book Al-Qur'an fi Al-Islam, studying the sciences because the decline in paragraph (asbab An-Nuzul) was very important in facilitating a person in knowing paragraph and understand the meaning and content of the existing in the Qur'an, as well as the secrets contained therein.
According to Ibn Abbas RA - one of the companions and great exegetes very beginning of Islam - to know the causes of the decline in the Quranic verses that allows a person to discover the history and historical events that happened in the days preceding Rasul SAW.
Al-Wahidie (w 472 H) explained, '' It is not possible to know the interpretation of a paragraph, without leaning on the history and explanation of the decline in the Quranic verse. ''
Daqiqi Ibn al-Eid (w 702 H) explained, knowing the causes of the decline of a paragraph is the most appropriate way to understand the meanings (mean) of the Qur'an.
From the description above, the scholars explained, there are at least four things that the utility or benefit study an-Nuzul asbab it. First, it helps a person in understanding the content of paragraphs and to avoid the difficulties that exist in verse. Second, it provides a precise understanding that the law brought by the verse is dedicated to provide the completion of the events or questions that the cause of the decline in the verse.
Third, to help facilitate memorization and understanding and attach the relevant passages in the hearts of those who hear it, when the passages were read.
Fourth, can know the wisdom (knowledge) of God with confidence on all matters prescribed by the revelation of the verses. (RS Abdul Aziz, Tafsir Tafsir Studies, 1991).
