Quran Mentions The Word Halal 30 Times
Halal is Arabic Halaal. The opposite is haram. In the
teachings of Islam, the word halal means '' allowed '' or permitted. Typically,
the word halal is used to refer to foods and beverages that may be consumed by
syar'i. At present, the awareness of Muslims in the world to consume products
labeled as halal is fairly high.
Based on data on Wikipedia, nearly 70 percent of Muslims
in the world has begun to consume food and drink products are halal standards.
Products labeled halal industry continues to increase. Total trade of halal
products in the global market per year has reached 580 billion US dollars.
Indeed, the word halal is not only used to refer to foods
and beverages that may be consumed by Muslims. In a broader context, the term
halal refers to anything that is permissible or permissible under Islamic law
include activities, behavior, how to dress, how to obtain sustenance and so on.
In the Qur'an, the word halal is mentioned more than 30
times. Here are the verses about halal stated in the Koran:
'' O mankind, eat of the lawful and good from what is
contained in the earth, and do not follow the steps of Satan; because the real
devil is a clear enemy. (Surah al-Baqarah: 168).
'' Permitted to you on the night of the fasting month
mixed with your wives; they are a garment for you, and you too are a garment
for them ... '' (Surah al-Baqarah: 187)
'' ... Whereas Allah has permitted trading and forbidden
usury ... '' (Surah al-Baqarah: 275)
'' And (I have come to you) confirming the Torah that
came before me, and to justify forgiven some who have been forbidden to you,
and I come to you with carrying a sign (miracle) than the Lord ... '' (Surah
Ali Imran: 50).
'' All food was lawful to the Children of Israel, but the
food was forbidden by Israel (Jacob) for himself before the Torah was revealed
... '' (Surah Ali Imran: 93).
'' O ye who believe, it is not lawful for you to inherit
women forcibly way ... '' (Surah an-Nisaa: 19).
'' Then the resulting injustice
of the Jews, we forbade (eating food) was good (the former) lawful for them,
and because of their much hinder (men) from the Path of Allah. '' (Surah
an-Nisaa: 160).
'' O ye who believe, fulfill aqad-aqad it. Lawful for you
cattle, but will be read to you. (That) does not justify the hunt when you are
pilgrims. Indeed, God established the laws by which He wills. '' (Surah
al-Maaidah: 1).
'' They ask you: "What is lawful for them?".
Say: "Lawful to you the good and (prey captured) by the wild beasts which
ye have taught her to train for hunting; you taught him according to what Allah
has taught you .. '' (Surah al-Maaidah: 4) ,
'' O ye who believe, do not unlawful anything good that
God has made lawful for you, and do not transgress limits. Allah does not love
those who exceed the limits. '' (Surah al-Maaidah: 87). '' And Eat the lawful
and good of what God has bestowed to you, and fear Allah that you believe in
Him. '' (Al-Maaidah: 88).
